Job Description

Executive Director.  The Stonewall National Museum and Archives (SNMA), Fort Lauderdale, Florida, seeks an experienced museum and/or fundraising professional who will provide visionary and energetic leadership, will further develop SNMA as thepremiere American LGBT museum and archive with a prominent national presence, and will provide overall direction for the Stonewall National Education Project and the Stonewall Library and Gallery. The ED currently directs and manages 2 full-time and 1 part-time staff members, 3 seasoned and expert volunteers in the Library, Archives, Museum and Gallery and indirectly supervises the work of more than 100 volunteers. The ED manages and stewards an annual operating budget in excess of $600K. Job Requirements

Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a proven track record of creative management and leadership in program expansion and development, ideally in museum work; significant successful experience in fund-raising in the not-for-profit sector; familiarity with designing and delivering educational programs; and must possess a passion for preserving and celebrating the proud history and culture of the national LGBT community. Demonstrated proficiency with the technology to support fund-raising, museum/collections management, and administrative efficiencies as well as with digital media and on-line availability of research materials is desirable.
