Museum Assistant
Description:
The primary duty of the Museum Assistant is to give guided tours to visitors of the historic home, workplace, and galleries of the Willard House & Clock Museum. In addition to this responsibility, the successful applicant will assist customers in the gift shop, conduct research, data entry, prepare museum mailings, and other tasks as assigned/needed. The Museum Assistant works with the Programs Coordinator to develop educational programming. Assist with opening and closing the museum. The Museum Assistant is supervised by the Museum Director. The Museum Assistant position at the Willard House is a part time (6-12 hours per week) position which includes one day per weekend. Occasional night work may be needed for when events are scheduled.

Qualifications:
Knowledge of Colonial/Federal American history, knowledge of the history of horology are a plus. The Museum Assistant should be comfortable speaking to diverse groups of people, from children to adults with varying degrees of knowledge of the museum and its collection. Interest in museums, history, art, horology, and teaching are important.
