Festival and Retail Coordinator

Description:
The program and retail coordinator is responsible for managing Historic New England’s large-scale festivals and coordinating retail operations at twelve museum shops. The position works with teams across Historic New England to ensure that the festivals and museum shops provide the greatest possible public access and reach revenue goals established annually by the organization.

The program and retail coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of three fine arts and crafts festivals and one antique car show held annually at Historic New England properties. S/he works closely with marketing staff to ensure promotion and outreach is effective, and with property care staff to ensure that landscapes and buildings are protected during the festival weekends, and meets revenue and attendance goals.

The position also coordinates merchandise ordering and restocking, merchandise display, and POS cash register operation at Historic New England museum shops. Coordinates all merchandise transfers, price changes, new item creation, and inventory. Receives and fulfills phone and web orders for merchandise. The position serves as expert user for Historic New England’s retail management software and troubleshoots with site staff and business services staff who are experiencing problems. S/he runs monthly sales reports, quarterly physical inventory reconciliations, and coordinates year-end inventory reports for the financial audit.

Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of job-related experience. The employee in this position must be extremely organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining precise attention to priorities, formats, procedures, details, and quality. Requires excellent internal and external customer service skills. Required computer skills include advanced word processing, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn and troubleshoot complicated retail management software. A valid driver’s license and a personal vehicle is required.
