Description:
The ideal candidate has a strong appreciation for the arts with a Bachelor’s degree in studio art, art history or a related field. Looking for a creative problem solver who is energetic and able to work both individually and with a team.

Responsibilities include assistance with:

· Arthandling duties including processing of artwork during delivery and pick-up, exhibition installation/de-installation, safe storage, packing and shipping preparation

· Exhibition administration: labels, price lists, artist bios and statements, etc.

· Opening receptions: hospitality, setup, and takedown

· General administrative office tasks

· Securing and managing museum volunteers for assorted programs and events

· Growing and diversifying volunteer pool

Qualifications:
· Excellent computer skills on Mac platform using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, WordPress and FileMaker. Able to troubleshoot with co-workers to help solve technology issues.

· Attention to detail is essential

· Ability to prioritize and remain organized is critical

· Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills

· Strong telephone skills

· Ability to contribute creatively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

· Able to frequently and independently lift up to 30 pounds; climb ladder for hanging artwork and adjusting gallery lighting

· Hold a driver’s license and has consistent use of a car during working and evening hours

· Flexibility with scheduling – days worked per week may shift depending on Museum programs.

· Punctual, reliable and accountable

· Participation in occasional evening receptions and events

· Other duties as assigned
