Pejepscot Historical Society in Brunswick, Maine, seeks an experienced, detailed, outgoing, and creative individual to serve as Museum Services Manager for the Pejepscot Museum and Research Center, the Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, and the Skolfield-Whittier House. The Museum Services manager assists with day-to-day operations including greeting and assisting guests, providing research assistance, managing volunteer tour guides and tour programs, processing mailings and maintaining donor records, and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and technological skills are required. A background in historical research and an interest in local history are required; a bachelor’s or advanced degree in the humanities is highly desirable. Candidates must be willing to serve as needed in a small organization. This position is approximately 35 hours per week from May to October and approximately 24 hours per week in the off season of October through May. During the museum season, the Museum Services Manager works Tuesdays through Saturdays. During the off season, s/he works Wednesdays through Fridays. Some additional evening and weekend hours are required.
