Description: Summary: The Rubin Museum of Art is a dynamic environment that
stimulates learning, promotes understanding, and inspires personal
ninth year, the Museum welcomes over 175,000 visitors annually and has
6,000 members. The Museum¹s preeminent collection includes works of art
from present-day Afghanistan, Bhutan, China, India, Mongolia, Nepal,
changing exhibitions and more than 250 public programs a year. The Museum
seeks a Head of Youth & Family Programs who will be responsible for all
formal and informal learning activities for pre-college audiences. The Head
of Youth & Family Programs will work with the Director of Education &
Engagement to create and implement all related program curricula and
initiatives. The program curricula will address overall Museum strategic
and departmental goals. RESPONSIBLITIES: -Develops, documents, and manages
implementation of Youth & Family programs serving Museum¹s pre-college
audiences. -Supervises Youth & Family staff: school services, family
learning, and education program coordinators. -Collaborates with Education
staff to develop curricula that complement the Museum¹s collection and
helps students and teachers form authentic and personal connections to the
art of the Himalayas. -Evaluates and revises lesson plans, art-projects,
and related program curricula activities to maintain excellence. -Conducts
ongoing assessment of program effectiveness. -Coordinates schedules and
collaborates with other museum educators and teaching artists.
-Participates in trainings related to new exhibitions. -Adapts curricula to
specific program goals. -Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: -Graduate degree in related field (art history or museum
education) and 5 years of museum experience. -Knowledge of Buddhist Art or
Asian studies preferred. -Excellent verbal and written skills are essential.
