Director of Marketing [Historic Highfield, Inc., Falmouth, MA]

Highfield Hall & Gardens (HH&G) is seeking a Director of Marketing (DOM) to establish the organization as a regional historic and cultural center destination. This is a new position due to rapid growth in visitation and revenue over the past 12 months and the leadership of a new, market driven Executive Director. The DOM is responsible for promoting and establishing the organization’s brand, promoting its programs and mission, and representing HH&G at community and industry events. Additionally, the DOM will be responsible for the annual marketing and communication plan, creating and producing marketing content (print & digital), managing the marketing budget, external marketing contractors, and external media relationships. Experience with websites, email marketing and social media required. The DOM will report to the Executive Director and be a member of the senior management team. As a senior member of the management team the DOM will work closely with the Director of Development and the Director of Programs and Exhibitions. Donor Relations Manger [Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, CT]

The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating comprehensive donor relations and stewardship programs that promote interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels. The Donor Relations Manager must sustain positive and mutually-rewarding relations between the museum and its donors; partner with the Director of Development to determine the best strategies for effective stewardship of donors; maintain ongoing and active networking with internal and external constituencies; and advise on the facilitation of recognition events and coordinate various activities for donor societies. Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, Business, English, Communication, or related field. Three to five years’ experience, preferably in a non-profit organization in development, stewardship, or advancement services. Previous experience working with donors is mandatory, as well as experience writing correspondence; and experience with donor databases and prospect tracking systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple requests. Collegial, collaborative style with strong people skills; outgoing personality and great telephone “presence”. Knowledge of prospect research tools and strategies; industry trends and technology. Position Overview:

The MIT Museum seeks an exhibit developer experienced in dynamic environments that interpret art and science with an emphasis on interactive experiences and the interpretation of collections. The Exhibit Developer is responsible for supporting the development of museum exhibits through exhibit research, content and experience development, collaborating effectively with the Director of Galleries and Exhibitions, curators, designers and teams. The Exhibit Developer conducts content research, leads visitor studies and exhibit evaluation, develops exhibit experiences, is responsible for writing and editing, and works to ensure that exhibit projects successfully present the specific topic and its educational goals. The Exhibit Developer is also responsible for project management, logistics coordination and documentation on assigned projects.

The Exhibit Developer will have specific interest and knowledge in one or more areas of knowledge that relate to the science and research at MIT.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
● Research educational, scientific and technological content for exhibits.
● Develop and document exhibit experience concepts and their operation.
● Advocate for educational and visitor experience goals as represented through design.
● Write and edit exhibit copy.
● Assist with exhibit prototyping and conduct evaluation.
● Develop project reports and other communication materials.
● Research exhibit resources and assist with development of exhibit ideas and programs.
● Research, track and manage artifacts as needed.
● Develop scripts and work closely with multimedia producers.
● Ensure that exhibits are experientially engaging and scientifically accurate.
● Conduct photo research and other visual media asset acquisition.
● Project manage logistics and communication with internal teams and outside vendors as assigned.
● Meet project budgets and schedules.

Qualifications &Skills:
Education:

BA/BS (MA/MS preferred) degree in science, math, engineering, science education, social sciences or a field related to informal teaching and learning.

Experience & Qualifications:
A minimum of 3+ years of experience developing museum exhibitions, preferably in interactive science or art environments. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. A willingness and ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with science researchers and non-specialists. Excellent research and organizational skills; candidates must be detail oriented, self-motivated, conscientious, thorough, task-focused and able to manage and track multiple demands in a fast-paced environment. Excellent, technical proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PPT and Google docs. Specific science content knowledge with respect to one or more of the following scientific/technological fields is preferred: mathematics, physics, engineering, architecture, computer or life sciences.
