Garden Outreach Programming Internship, The Trustees of Reservations (Boston, MA)

The Spring Garden Programming Intern will focus on supporting and further developing the Master Urban Gardener program (MUG). After MUG concludes in mid-March, this intern will support the promotion and administration of the Seed, Sow, & Grow (SSG) workshop series.

MUG is an intensive, skill-building training program for both novice and experienced gardeners. The 2016 MUG classroom sessions will take place on seven Saturdays this winter starting January 30 and running through March 12. Each Saturday will feature topical lectures as well as participatory activities covering everything an urban gardener needs to know to create a thriving community garden, from vegetable gardening and composting to community organizing. Seed, Sow & Grow brings people together for skill-building workshops and events at City Natives in Mattapan and throughout Boston.

Environmental Research Fellow, Tufts Institute of the Environment (Medford, MA)

Matriculated graduate students at any of Tufts University’s graduate programs and professional schools are eligible to apply for TIE fellowships to conduct interdisciplinary environmental research projects. This is an opportunity to recognize and provide greater visibility for stellar interdisciplinary students and their work. Selected students will be receive funding toward a research stipend and/or supplies (up to $6000 per project).

Transportation and Climate Change Intern, Center for Clean Air Policy (Washington, D.C.)

The Transportation & Climate Policy Intern will support CCAP’s transportation policy work, including an upcoming transportation project in Central America. CCAP’s transportation program focuses on assessing and enhancing the environmental and economic benefits of transportation and land use policies.

This paid internship provides an opportunity for on-the-job experience for planning students of those in similar fields, especially for those interested in public service. You will work one on one with our Senior Policy Director, with support from other staff, on one or two major projects that drive 1000 Friends policy work. Please submit a cover letter, resume, academic transcript, writing sample, and three reference letters.
