Open Space Conversation Intern, Town of Canton (Canton, MA)

The Conservation Intern will be responsible for assisting Canton Conservation Commission in researching and creating an inventory of Commission –owned parcels including possible visits to registry of deeds and town hall. Work will include making site maps using GIS and mapping trails and site resources using GPS.

Location: Conservation Department, 79 Pleasant Street, Canton MA Time Frame: January – May 2020
Hours: 10 to 20 hours per week

Climate Action Coordinator, City of Newark (Newark, NJ)

The City of Newark is looking for a Climate Action Coordinator. This is an entry level, civil service position with a 35-hour work week.

Some of the essential job duties for this position include:
• Providing technical analysis to advise the strategic direction for Newark’s sustainability agenda
•  Supporting implementation of existing policies, programs, and priorities, as well as identifying and developing new initiatives related to Newark’s sustainability agenda. 
•  Analyze a variety of data and research to generate policy solutions and identify trends.
• Track, measure, analyze and evaluate data to generate policy solutions and identify trends especially with respect to City of Newark and community-wide greenhouse gas emissions.
•  Assist Chief Sustainability Officer and Sustainability Team in promoting and executing municipal and community initiatives and related policies by conducting research on policy issues and best practices.
