Food & Water Watch/Food & Water Action seeks a part-time (working 5-29 hours per week), unpaid Research Intern with a strong interest in Food & Water Watch/Food & Water Action issues, a commitment to social change, and the ability to work well independently and in a team.

The Research Intern assists the research team with providing information, analysis and written materials to support Food & Water Watch/Food & Water Action campaigns on all of our food, water and climate issues. Currently, much of our research supports local, state and federal climate and energy campaigns, including those that seek to ban fracking, shut down power plants, pipelines and other fossil fuel infrastructure, and move off of fossil fuels and onto 100% renewable energy. This position is in the Washington, DC office. The summer internship will last from May to August. Start and end dates are flexible.

Working closely with Green Century’s marketing staff, the intern(s) will be responsible for promoting Green Century’s Funds, with particular focus on Green Century’s new international fund through primarily website and digital marketing and design materials. This experience will offer the intern(s) the opportunity to learn about marketing a new product in the socially responsible investing space as well as web and digital marketing. We will provide training on marketing strategy, media tracking and follow-up, social media work, basics of the mutual fund industry, and web content. The intern(s) will also be exposed to the burgeoning field of environmentally and socially responsible investing.

Working closely with Green Century’s shareholder advocacy team, the intern(s) will be responsible for researching how climate change and environmental issues affect a broad range of industry sectors, will help develop the business case for environmentally sustainable practices, and will help profile companies that are leaders in clean energy and environmental sustainability. Specific issues may include but may not be limited to: renewable energy procurement, greenhouse gas emission reduction, climate change, deforestation and cross commodity supply chains, and sustainable farming and seafood. Through this experience, intern(s) will be exposed to sustainability challenges in a variety of industries, learn how to benchmark corporate practices, and develop strong research and presentation skills. Intern(s) will also be exposed to the growing field of environmentally and socially responsible investing, including the relationship between corporate sustainability, financial performance, and fossil fuel divestment strategies.

SEACC seeks a full-time summer intern to join our development and outreach team. Development work with SEACC focuses on connecting people to our mission and work and building support for SEACC
through creative engagement. 2020 is SEACC’s 50th anniversary and the intern will join the development team in helping share SEACC’s history and mission and celebrate our 50-year legacy with current supporters and reach new audiences. The Development and Outreach Intern will report directly to the Director of Development and will work closely with SEACC’s Development and Outreach Associate. The intern will work with SEACC’s development and outreach team to design and implement creative outreach and fundraising opportunities throughout the summer and plan and prepare for a large end of year anniversary celebration in December 2020.
