Climate Advocacy Training Program, Citizen’s Climate Lobby (Remote)

This summer, Citizens’ Climate is offering a 15-week Climate Advocacy Training Program for anyone interested in learning and applying CCL’s methods for climate action. No application or prerequisites are necessary to join and there is no cost. The program takes about 2 hours per week and can be completed alongside a full-time job or internship.

Participants who successfully complete the program by August 31 will receive CCL’s Certificate of Completion, and if they are enrolled at an institution of higher learning in the fall, receive an invitation to join CCL’s Campus Leaders Program to start a climate campaign or CCL chapter at their school.

Environmental Communications Intern, Tufts University (Medford, MA/Remote)

Title: Using data to tell stories about sustainability and conservation research

Description: To work remotely with Professors Colin Orians and Michael Reed to create visually appealing and easily understood Story Maps related to their research, such as the impacts of global change on tea and coffee farmers and consumers, as well as understanding extinction risks to wildlife, especially birds. Depending on the background of the student, other opportunities for research may exist.

Requirements: Preference will be given to an individual that has used Story Maps by Esri ArcGIS and/or taken Env150: Environmental Communication

Starting date: June 1, 2020 for about 10 weeks @ 15-30 hours per week. Review of applications will begin on May 25th and continue until filled. 

Paid position; minimum $12.75/hr, negotiable depending on experience.

Established in 2015 as a Benefit LLC, Climate Finance Advisors is a women-owned consulting and advisory firm specializing in helping our clients develop climate finance strategies, appraise and structure climate-aligned investments, channel public and private capital to sustainable investment, and integrate climate considerations into investment decisions, financial products and services, and policies. CFA is recruiting for a Summer Intern. All CFA internships are paid, and work-study arrangements are considered. CFA internships provide an opportunity to work on interesting projects in the areas of climate finance, climate change policy and international development, climate risk/resilience, and private finance.

Mel King Institute Program Fellow, MACDC (Boston MA)

The Mel King Institute for Community Building is a program of MACDC that fosters vibrant and thriving Massachusetts communities by advancing the skills, knowledge and leadership ability of professional practitioners and volunteer leaders in the community development field. We leverage collaborative professional and educational partnerships that increase access, encourage innovation, build capacity in the community development field.  We are looking for a candidate with the desire to serve in a two‐year fellowship experience (Sept. 5, 2020 to Sept. 5, 2022) grounded in the Community Development field. The fellow will coordinate the training curriculum and serve as a liaison to the MKI network of students, practitioners, instructors, and program partners. The Program Fellow’s role will be to lead and staff the day‐to‐day operations of this professional education institute, which includes courses, coalitions, and programs like the MKI Certificate program.

Summer Intern, Student PIRG (Various Locations)

The Student PIRGs Summer Internship program is designed for college students who are looking to increase their experience in political organizing and strategy. This 5 week long program provides interns with opportunities to build their leadership skills, political engagement, and interest in advocacy careers. Interns will work remotely on a variety of different campaigns and take part in weekly tactical workshops to develop their skills. Our approach requires each intern not only to develop expertise in campaign strategy, but also to become skilled in organizing and the political process. As an intern you will work side by side with the professional organizing staff of The Student PIRGs.
