Shareholder Advocacy Internship, Green Century Funds (Boston, MA)

Working closely with Green Century’s shareholder advocacy team, the intern(s) will be responsible for researching how climate change and environmental issues affect a broad range of industry sectors, will help develop the business case for environmentally sustainable practices, and will help profile companies that are leaders in clean energy and environmental sustainability. Specific issues may include but may not be limited to: renewable energy procurement, greenhouse gas emission reduction, climate change, deforestation and cross commodity supply chains, and sustainable farming and seafood. Through this experience, intern(s) will be exposed to sustainability challenges in a variety of industries, learn how to benchmark corporate practices, and develop strong research and presentation skills. Intern(s) will also be exposed to the growing field of environmentally and socially responsible investing, including the relationship between corporate sustainability, financial performance, and fossil fuel divestment strategies.

Development and Outreach Summer Intern, Southeast Alaska Conservation Council (Southeast Alaska)

SEACC seeks a full-time summer intern to join our development and outreach team. Development work with SEACC focuses on connecting people to our mission and work and building support for SEACC
through creative engagement. 2020 is SEACC’s 50th anniversary and the intern will join the development team in helping share SEACC’s history and mission and celebrate our 50-year legacy with current supporters and reach new audiences. The Development and Outreach Intern will report directly to the Director of Development and will work closely with SEACC’s Development and Outreach Associate. The intern will work with SEACC’s development and outreach team to design and implement creative outreach and fundraising opportunities throughout the summer and plan and prepare for a large end of year anniversary celebration in December 2020.

Internship, Virginia Conservation Network (Richmond, VA)

Each year VCN works with our 125+ Network Partners to put forward Our Common Agenda (www.vcnva.org/our-common-agenda/), an annual publication that lays out our shared policy agenda. It covers issues from how Virginia can move forward pragmatic policies to advance climate action, protect wildlife habitat, clean up the Chesapeake Bay, increase access to the outdoors, promote walkable / bikeable communities, advance environmental justice and more.  

This summer Virginia Conservation Network is looking to supplement our community’s capacity with an intern who we can help to gain a foothold in the world of environmental policy in Virginia.  Duties include researching complex policy problems and working to build capacity for our 125+ groups within our network.

STARS & Resources Intern 2020, AASHE (Remote)

The STARS & Resources Intern assists in submission review of AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) and provides administrative and technical support in the ongoing development of AASHE resources, particularly related to AASHE’s online resource library, the Campus Sustainability Hub. The intern will work from a virtual office and will be responsible for securing a laptop or personal computer and high-speed internet connection.
