Summer Internships, Student PIRGs (Various Locations)

The Student PIRGs Summer Internship program is designed for college students who are looking to increase their experience in political organizing and strategy. This 5-week long program provides interns with opportunities to build their leadership skills, political engagement, and interest in advocacy careers. Interns will work remotely on a variety of different campaigns and take part in weekly tactical workshops to develop their skills. Our approach requires each intern not only to develop expertise in campaign strategy, but also to become skilled in organizing and the political process. As an intern, you will work side by side with the professional organizing staff of The Student PIRGs.

Network Development Officer, Climate Action Network (Remote)

This role is placed in the Network Development Department of CAN. The NDO department works in two primary areas. Firstly, we operate as a liaison point and support for the 20 national and regional Nodes in CAN. A core aspect of this is strengthening the way we work together between the national, regional, and international levels in CAN as a global network to enable bottom-up and member-driven strategy development and implementation.

Director of Science and Fresh Water Program, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) (Montpelier, VT)

Director of Science and Freshwater Programs provides science leadership and scientific support for Vermont conservation initiatives within The Nature Conservancy’s strategic conservation priorities.  Additionally, they provide strategic leadership on freshwater resilience, river restoration, and climate adaptation projects and programs in Vermont.  They supervise and manage staff and work within a team structure to share science across programmatic functions.

Parks for People Program Manager, The Trust for Public Land (Boston, MA)

The Parks for People Program Manager works with local communities in and around Boston to create and transform urban parks and open spaces, with a focus on addressing climate, equity, and health issues. In partnership with local community leaders, neighborhood residents, public agencies, nonprofit partners, and others, the Program Manager engages community members to identify, shape, and realize green space projects that meet local residents’ needs, align with the Trust for Public Land’s Land for People mission, have sound long-term ownership and stewardship strategies, and can be successfully funded and completed.

Communications/Media Internship, Build Repair Grow (Remote)

Build Repair Grow Build Repair Grow is a new nonprofit program in Massachusetts that teaches young people hands-on, practical skills in growing food, cooking, repairing bikes, sewing, and basic carpentry while developing increased resiliency, critical thinking, and problem-solving techniques through project-based learning. The elimination of home arts and shop classes from schools has created a gap that Build Repair Grow helps fill.

Build Repair Grow is seeking a Communications / Media Intern for Summer 2020. Responsibilities include: Manage Online and Video Tutorials, Recruit instructors to record themselves teaching a BRG skill to be shared on BRG website, Maintain communication and support instructors on video topics and content, etc., Follow up with instructors and be the point person to receive all videos via email, Organize and maintain video files plus names/contact information for online instructors, Edit the videos, Post finished videos to the closed YouTube channel that will be linked to BRG
website, Manage and update Build Repair Grow Social Media Accounts, and more!
