Social Media, Marketing, and Events, Citizens’ Climate Lobby (Fall 2020, Medford, NY)

This position assists with planning of our annual conference and lobby day. This includes researching, strategizing, and composing posts for social media marketing, planning and support conference events, conducting research on energy policy, economics, congressional records, health, security effects of climate change, and more. Reports to CCL’s Marketing & Events Manager, and Marketing & Events Coordinator. There is a 12 week time commitment with 12 hours per week (with some additional hours potentially needed for International Conference planning). Most work will be done onsite.

Legislative Intern, Citizens’ Climate Lobby (Fall 2020, Washington, DC)

This intern will conduct research on energy policy, economics, congressional records, health effects of climate change, etc. Other responsibilities include data entry using Salesforce, congressional research for biographies and meetings, cross checking field reports, uploading data to websites, and more. Reports to Vice President of Legislation and Research in Washington, DC. Interns will complete 15 hours per week, 2-3 weekdays 10am-3pm (openings vary).

Legislative Fellow, Citizens’ Climate Lobby (Fall 2020, Washington, DC)

Applicant must be a person of color. This position will research and build relationships with diverse advocacy organizations, organize briefings, with minimal guidance, and occasionally shadow CCL’s Senior Director of Government Affairs on the Hill. Fellow will become conversant with CCL’s tools, and methods, which are designed to empower all citizens to engage in advocacy and outreach work in pursuit of a healthy future. The position is intended for motivated self-starters who have completed undergraduate education in a related field. The fellow will work in Washington, DC 20-25 hours a week. The fellowship carries a $3,500 stipend.

Campus Leaders Program, Citizens’ Climate Lobby (Remote)

The purpose of the Campus Leaders Program is to empower students to become effective climate advocates and organizers in their communities. With support from CCL staff and regional fellows, Campus Leaders learn climate advocacy skills, educate others about climate solutions, and build political will for carbon pricing.

Students in the program join one of two tracks: The regular track for students who are new to CCL and the accelerated track for those who have experience with CCL. Students in the regular track spend a semester learning about CCL, advocacy methods, and organizing. Students who do the regular track can apply for one credit from their school for completing the program. They are automatically enrolled in the accelerated track following successful completion of the program.
