Teaching Support

New curriculum is more effective when teachers are supported as they implement it in their classrooms. Each Great Diseases lesson is accompanied by a teacher manual that provides the day’s learning objectives, key discussion points and help with activities.

We offer short videos that review the key points and common student questions per lesson:

We also offer different types of personalized support and professional development:

  • Partner with a science mentor – Free! If questions arise as you prepare or teach a lesson you can contact on of our Project Leaders directly via email, phone, text or chat. They are available to answer questions about pedagogy, content, best-practices or technical issues should they come up.
  • In-person workshopsFree! Each summer we host week-long workshops for each of the four disease modules. Check out our Professional Development page to learn more, and to see if these will be taught in your area. You can also request that we teach a week-long workshop in your city if there is interest. Contact one of our Project Leaders for details.
  • Online courses –  Coming summer 2018! We are excited to announce that we are launching an online graduate education program. Stay tuned for details!
