Summer workshops for 2020 are currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are evaluating the possibility of conducting online workshops. We would love to hear from you regarding your interest; please fill out our contact form here.
We offer in-person professional development summer workshops to provide you with the background to teach The Great Diseases curriculum in your high school classrooms. These free workshops are offered for continuing education units (CEUs) and are open to all teachers interested in the topic, regardless of whether you plan to teach The Great Diseases curriculum.
Each workshop focuses on a specific disease module from The Great Diseases curriculum. You will learn the key scientific concepts and experience the inquiry-based pedagogical strategies employed in the curriculum. We will also discuss adapting the lesson plans for your own classroom. Once you have completed the workshop we can offer support as you pilot the curriculum in your classroom.
