The J. Turner Hood Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Long-Term Substitute Teacher to support students in elementary classrooms. This assignment is expected to be from January 3, 2023 through June 16, 2023 (or the end of the current 2022-2023 school year).
Essential Duties:
- Serve as the lead teacher in a substantially separate ABA based classroom
- Serve as the liaison for students on your caseload which includes completing educational assessments, functional behavior assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, completing progress reports, and chairing IEP annual review meetings as well as progress reviews
- Collaborate with general education and special education teachers
- Support inclusion opportunities as appropriate
- Collaborate with parents/guardians and outside providers
- Attend faculty and department meetings as directed
- All other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Student Services
Job Requirements
- Massachusetts DESE license in Special Education-Moderate/Severe
- BCBA certification preferred
- CPI Training preferred
Per diem rate is dependent on candidate’s alignment within the North Reading Education Association contract.
