Human Rights and Religious Minorities in China
On Wednesday, March 6, the Fletcher Initiative on Religion, Law, and Diplomacy was thrilled to host Omer Kanat, the Director of the Uyghur Human Rights Project for a discussion about human rights abuses against the Uyghurs.
In a riveting lunchtime talk, Kanat shared his perspectives about the current situation of Uyghurs in Xinjiang. He emphasized the importance of understanding the oppression of religious minorities when analyzing China’s geopolitical strategy.
