Danforth Art Docents are dedicated volunteers who lead tours for Danforth Art visitors. Guided tours are interactive and docents help visitors make meaning of the artwork on view by facilitating discussions that encourage careful looking, critical thinking, and personal connections. By making the museum a comfortable and engaging environment for visitors young and old, Danforth Art Docents provide an invaluable service to Danforth Art and its community.

Qualifications:
Accepted applicants are required to attend a New Docent Training Program beginning in the fall and meeting weekly on Wednesday afternoons through the spring.  Maintaining an active Danforth Art Membership is required of all Danforth Art Docents.  New Docents are asked to make at least a 2 year commitment to the program upon graduating the New Docent Training Program.  After graduation, Danforth Art Docents are expected to attend monthly training sessions and lead at least 10 tours annually.
