Description

The Museum Services Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of Association programming, manages Museum services, and coordinates volunteer contributions to the Association.

Association programming includes educational endeavors, outreach activities, membership events, and all other public programs supported by the Association with the exception of fundraising events.

Manages Museum services and ensures that visitors and guests are provided with current, accurate and up to date information, directions, opportunities and activities that enhance each person’s experience.

Coordinate volunteer contributions to the Association through the recruitment and training of volunteers and interns, documenting volunteer contributions and ensuring positive and rewarding experiences for all volunteers, ensuring strong retention of volunteers.

Requirements

Requirements:

  1. Must possess public speaking and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  2. Work with, supervise, and manage volunteers.
  3. Maintain a professional atmosphere.
  4. Proficient with technology, including but not limited to, internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, accounting and database software.
  5. Must be able to lift and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in history, museum studies, education, or a related field.

Experience: Experience in a museum environment with any of the following areas is preferred; planning and executing programs/events, visitor services, and volunteer recruitment and supervision.
