The Assistant Registrar for the Wexner Center for the Arts will work closely with the Registrar and exhibition department staff to facilitate quarterly exhibitions of contemporary art from conception through dispersal: Coordinate loans, insurance, shipping, packing and crating, and customs arrangements for domestic and international exhibitions with a large variety of private and institutional lenders; oversee artwork packing/unpacking, inspection, condition reporting, and documentation; coordinate details for exhibitions organized in-house including crating, transit, budget estimates, and storage for travel; serve as lead for assigned exhibitions; manage all rights and reproductions requests and loan requests for the permanent collection; manage university required administrative databases; working closely with arts service providers through the entire purchasing and payment process. Act as fine art courier when required; successful applicant must attend weekly exhibitions meetings and assist in maintaining gallery spaces.

Required: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; proficient verbal and written communication skills required; will be required to work long hours including evenings, weekends and possible holidays as needed. Desired: Experience in museum registration including insuring, transporting and art handling preferred; knowledge of contemporary art and knowledge of computerized collections database management desired; requires successful completion of background check prior to start date.
