Description:
Peabody Essex Museum has a full-time opening for an Administrative Assistant within the Development Department. Reporting to the Associate Director of Development Events, this individual will work in close partnership with the Associate Director to provide administrative support for various fund-raising, stewardship, cultivation and prospects event activities designed to help achieve annual and major gift fundraising objectives. Duties include preparing invitations, tracking responses, attendance at events and follow-up procedures. The Development Assistant also schedules appointments, assists with travel planning, invoicing, expense reports, various research and other administrative projects as assigned. Some database work is required to track event activity and the Assistant is required to work occasional evenings and weekends to cover specific events.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be resourceful, able to work independently, adjust easily to changing priorities, organized and able to work with confidential information. A BS/BA and a minimum of one year of experience and/or training required. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);Tessitura and Raisers Edge experience a plus; well-developed interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills are essential. A background in development and/or Art History and experience in Art Museums are a plus. Initiative and a team-oriented work style are also essential.
