ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

Major New England museum reopens its search for an experienced development professional for direct solicitation of major gifts, active donor cultivation, prospect research, and stewardship of a portfolio of 100-125 donors and prospects making gifts of $500 to $10,000+.

• Responsible for a minimum of 10 face-to-face visits per month.

• Responsible for helping manage a broad fundraising program to secure lead annual gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.

• Work to improve strategies to increase donor retention, upgrades, and donor acquisition. Strong oral/written communication skills required.

• Build complete prospect profiles and maintain up-to-date files (including trip reports and solicitation activity records) for all assigned prospects.

• Responsibilities include grant writing and fundraising event support.

• Minimum 3 years major gift solicitation experience. This is a must.

• Significant fundraising database expertise required (Raiser’s Edge or equivalent).

• Campaign experience preferred. (Currently laying groundwork for a future comprehensive campaign.)
• Familiarity with social media fundraising tools and strategies preferred.

• Museum experience preferred.

• Annual salary: $54,000-$61,000, commensurate with experience.

• Development office size: team of three. Some evening /weekend hours required.

Requirements
