Membership Sales Associate

Description:
The Membership Sales Associate will be responsible for engaging with visitors in the entrances and other high traffic areas of the Museum in order to recruit new members and renew existing ones. Through knowledge of the Museum and the various levels and benefits of membership, the Associate is expected to meet weekly membership sales goals by enticing visitors with member discounts, invitations to Museum events, and other benefits. The position includes responsibility for all aspects of the membership sale process, including the approach, assessment, presentation, and the close. As one of the first points of contact with the visitor, the Associate must be courteous and welcoming, always offering the best in customer service. At all times, the Associate will encourage the purchase of a membership while being cognizant of the benefits available at each of the various levels of membership and knowledgeable about the Museum itself. In addition to closing membership sales, the Associate will field visitor questions and hand-off to other Museum employees as needed. This is a term position with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2016. Part-time; 30 hours/week.
Qualifications:
Sales experience; strong computer skills; outstanding customer service and relationship-management skills; ability to handle confidential data with care and discretion, abiding by personal information security guidelines. Due to the nature of interaction with visitors, this position requires the ability to stand and walk throughout each shift.
