The Youth Programs Program Assistants will support the Summer Youth Internship Program by assisting in weekly workforce development workshops. Program assistants will work collaboratively with one another to ensure consistency across projects. Program assistants will also cultivate a community for summer youth interns and role model best practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in 1 – 3 four-hour workshops a week for 7 weeks
  • Work as a team leader on 1 -3 teams of 3 – 4 people each.
  • Assist in planning 2 teen events for summer youth interns.
  • Assist in 1 three-hour orientation session and 1 additional training session for summer youth interns.
  • Participate in department weekly meetings for 7 weeks

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is temporary, part-time, with up to 28 hours per week running July through September.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Museum of Science is actively searching for an experienced and enthusiastic, upbeat front-line Visitor Services Specialist who thrives in a highly trafficked public environment. Cash handling skills required. Exemplary customer service and communication skills a must! Ability to work independently and efficiently as needed. Flexibility and multitasking skills highly desirable. This is a uniformed position that requires working during scheduled holiday periods and school vacation weeks due to increased attendance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 20,000 – 50,000 guests per week depending on the season.
  • Up to 15,000 guests per day during school vacation week / holiday periods or special exhibitions.
  • 1,000 – 3,000 school children per day during the school year.
  • Up to 500 transactions per cashier, per day.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is part-time, 18.25 hours a week, with the following schedule:

  • Monday, 8:45am – 1:45pm
  • Friday, 4:45pm – 10:00pm
  • Sunday, 8:45am – 5:15pm

Director, Visitor Services

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post high school course work, technical degree, associates, degree or business certificate preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of retail/customer service experience.

STARTING SALARY:

Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.

Responsible for maintaining smooth operation of garage entry and exit process, providing excellent customer service with garage operational issues and taking immediate and effective action to minimize service disruptions to staff, interns, volunteers, contractors, or guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 1.5 million visitors each year
  • 1.2 million square feet of property
  • 975 car garage capacity on 5 floors
  • 100+ lost children per year
  • 300+ medical incidents per year
  • 200+ incidents including but not limited to: theft, vandalism, criminal behavior
  • 24 x7 operation which requires working on weekends, holidays & emergency closings
  • Daily customer contact
  • 24-30 school buses per day

The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home in Lenox, MA has an immediate opening for a development associate. This position plays a vital role in the organization, supporting all fundraising activities, working closely with the Development Director, Major Gift Officer, and Executive Director. The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a familiarity with donor database management (Raiser’s Edge preferred), a strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task, and work independently.

 

Responsibilities include:

· Managing donor database (Raiser’s Edge) including gift entry, reporting and mailing lists.

· Coordinating of all aspects of The Mount’s giving campaigns including coordinating with printers and mailing houses.

· Coordinating donor and member related communications in a timely manner including acknowledgements and e-newsletters.

· Overseeing The Mount’s membership campaign.

· Managing The Mount’s volunteer program in partnership with the Public Programs Coordinator.

· Primary contact for most donor and member needs.

· Assisting in the organization and execution of fundraising/member and other events.

· Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:
· Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge database preferred.

· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

· Strong written and verbal skills.

· Ability to be discrete and a healthy respect for confidentiality.

· Strong customer service skills and an entrepreneurial spirit.

· A professional, positive attitude.

· Flexible schedule with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends (particularly during the summer season)

· Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment

The Sales Associate Position is a PT/YR position that includes weekend hours. Sales Associates primarily perform retail sales operations and related duties in the Museum Shop. Sales Associates are a vital part of the museum’s front-line staff, and are expected to welcome and engage members and the visiting public in a professional, knowledgeable, and cheerful manner.  Reporting to the Museum Shop Manager, Sales Associates are part of our institutional team and work cooperatively with the full museum community, including Director and staff, Trustees and Officers, members, volunteers, donors, sponsors and supporters.

Qualifications:
Experience in retail or customer service; excellent communication skills; ability to be attentive to visitors; ability to be on feet for an 8 hour shift, lift 30 lbs. minimum, and navigate stairs while carrying product; interest in Early American History a plus.
