Program Manager, The New England Grassroots Environment Fund (Remote/Newmarket, NH/Burlington, VT)

The Grassroots Fund seeks a dynamic and collaborative individual who has an established record of direct environmental justice/just transition work in marginalized communities. The Program Manager works with a team of two other Program Managers and reports to the Director of Operations. The Program Manager has four primary focus areas in support of the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Lead facilitation of the Grow grant program;
  2. Collaborate  to deliver an integrated series of convenings;
  3. Manage social media platforms and coordinate staff content/contributions;
  4. Facilitate a cohort program around narrative strategy & movement building.

The Grassroots Fund is seeking a Program Manager with lived experience in environmental justice and social change advocacy and organizing, particularly in under-resourced and marginalized communities. Experience in participatory grantmaking processes and strategies to disrupt white supremacy culture is desirable.

Food Justice Organizer, GreenRoots (Chelsea, MA)

GreenRoots seeks a Food Justice Organizer to manage and support our four community gardens, urban farm and urban agricultural programs. The Food Justice Organizer will manage and oversee all of GreenRoots’ growing spaces and will seek opportunities for expansion of urban agricultural spaces and programming to address food insecurity in Chelsea.  The Food Justice Organizer will engage residents, including youth, in all urban agricultural programming in Chelsea including supporting school gardens, expanded growing spaces, implementing educational programming and providing hands on activities in the gardens and farms.

The Organizer will provide information, education and opportunities for engagement of the community; serve as a liaison between community growing spaces and city stakeholders, and develop systems to deliver harvested crops to the most impacted and vulnerable residents. The Food Justice Organizer will work with and train an Urban Farm Crew, the ECO Youth Crew and neighborhood leaders to share information, growing techniques and resources to ensure knowledge and skills are shared broadly. The Food Justice Organizer should be skilled in urban farming, community engagement and partnership building. The Food Justice Organizer will work with residents, members, partners and allied organizations, municipal agencies, faith based institutions, local schools and other stakeholders.

Clean Energy Internship Program, Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (Various Locations)

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Internship Program helps prepare the next generation of clean energy workers by funding internships for students and recent graduates at Massachusetts clean energy and water innovation companies. The Fall 2020 Session is now open. Students looking for an internship in the clean energy industry are required to complete an online application that includes a resume, transcripts, and supporting eligibility documents. Employers looking to host interns review these applications and select candidates with the qualifications that are most suited to their needs. The program accepts intern applications through its website on a rolling basis. Climate Change Policy Intern, Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) (Washington, D.C.)

CFR’s Blavatnik and Robina Franklin Williams internships give selected interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning.

Recycling Intern, Tufts Office of Sustainability (Remote – Medford, MA)

Are you passionate about reducing the amount of waste that goes to the landfill? Do you enjoy educating your peers about recycling? Are you good at organizing? Then join the Office of Sustainability’s recycling team! This position will support Tufts’ recycling efforts and initiatives.  Below are sample selected responsibilities:   

  • Education and Outreach: Will develop and deliver presentations and other educational material about recycling to different groups within the University and will collaborate with the Recycling Coordinator on starting new education and outreach initiatives.   
  • Data: Will aid the Recycling Coordinator in processing the University’s recycling, trash, and compost data for all four campuses, including specialty recycling items. This includes receiving incoming data, transferring data to our Excel files, and creating data visualizations and/or reports in excel.  
  • Specialty Recycling: Will help out with maintaining the University’s specialty recycling streams, including small electronics, textiles, ink and toner, batteries, lab waste, and plastic film, through monitoring, tracking, processing, and drop-off.  
  • Waste Infrastructure: Will provide Tufts community members and buildings with recycling bins, labels, and signs when requested and/or needed.  

 The Intern will hone efficient customer-relations skills, data collection skills, logistics knowledge, education and outreach skills, and recycling industry knowledge.
