The Prize Scholarship of the Class of 1882 Winner: Jake A. Zaslav

The Prize Scholarship of the Class of 1882 recognizes great potential for intellectual leadership and creativity.

Jake Zaslav (A20) is a highly creative double major in Music and Political Science. During his time at Tufts, he has used his combined interest in politics (organization and advocacy) and music to make real change. He founded Music Orchard, a non-profit that has now provided over 200 students at five different elementary schools with free private lessons taught by over 100 volunteer mentors. Jake was instrumental in advocating change in the Music Department, which led directly to the creation of the new, highly-inclusive Music, Sound, and Culture major. He has also served as Community Development Assistant for Residential Life, founded a tech company called ZYou Run, acted as student leader for Arts@Tufts, and accumulated an impressive list of internships with media programs that combine art and politics.
