Abhishek Jain, Visiting Fellow

Abhishek Jain is a Visiting Fellow at CIERP and CPL. His research at CPL focuses on the climate-compliant pathways to nutritional security in  India in the context of rising incomes and inequality. He is a Fellow and Director of Powering Livelihoods program at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW), a New Delhi based policy think tank. Over the last decade, Abhishek’s action research has focused on furthering development goals in developing countries in a climate compliant manner. He has focused on themes such as rural electrification, energy access, clean cooking energy, energy for livelihoods, solar irrigation, and sustainable food systems.

Abhishek has published in high-impact international journals such as Nature Energy, Energy Policy, etc. He frequently writes in leading Indian dailies and regularly advises senior government officials on various government policies. He holds an MPhil in sustainable development from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor in mechanical engineering from IIT Roorkee.
