Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Rising Power Alliances/Coalitions

Description

The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy is seeking candidates with a PhD in the field of international relations or comparative politics to conduct and manage research on the changing nature of alliances/coalitions in global governance, with a focus on rising power alignments and the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) group. The Rising Power Alliances Project is a 3 year, grant-funded project at The Fletcher School that examines theoretical and empirical aspects of rising power alliances/coalitions and systematically engages non-Western perspectives and policies of the BRICS countries across various issue areas. We are looking for an excellent researcher with a global outlook who is passionate about publishing and can effectively manage project operations to ensure that the team meets project deliverables. This includes working with investigators, a team of research assistants, engagement in database development and other activities.

Qualifications

Doctorate is required, and applicants must have received their Ph.D. degree in 2014 or later. Postdoctoral fellow is expected to remain in residence at The Fletcher School through the duration of the fellowship. Preference for candidates with publishing experience and experience managing research and advising students. Qualitative coding, automated content analysis, comparative research skills and knowledge of Mandarin, Russian or Portuguese are preferred but not required.

The salary is $52,000 and includes health benefits. This is a 1 year position renewable up to two years.
