Seeking regular part-time after-school care/house management (Cambridge/Somerville)

Location: Cambridge/Somerville

Hours: M-F afternoons starting at 3pm, 7-9+ hrs/week

Starting: early September

Compensation: $30/hour

Our family is looking for a reliable and responsible person to pick up our sweet, silly almost-6 and 3-year-old girls from their school near Davis Square at 3pm and to bring them to their after-school program near Harvard Square (10-15 min drive or 2 stops on the Red Line), M-F, starting in September.

For 3-4 afternoons a week (depending on what works best), we are asking for help with just the 3pm transfer. We are expecting to pay for the full hour for the transfer, so it would be $30/pickup.

For the other 1-2 afternoons each week, it would be wonderful to have someone do the 3pm transfer, then help with house management in our home near Magoun Square while the girls are at their after school program (for example, folding/putting away clean laundry, putting away dishes, small organizing projects), then bring the girls home by 6pm.

We are looking for someone dependable, with a drivers’ license and excellent driving record, ideally with their own car, and references. We would also love for this person to become a trusted babysitter for date nights, occasional days where school is off, etc., if that is of interest to you.

We are flexible and could split the days between two people if we are the right fit but you cannot commit to 5 days a week (our car could be available 2-3 days each week if you do not have your own car). Alternatively, if you are looking for regular babysitting hours, we could discuss babysitting for regular date nights as well.

Please reach out to Sheena if you’re interested: sheenaandderek@gmail.com

Thanks for considering!
