Babysitting Preschooler (Somerville and Cambridge)

Job Description: I am looking for afternoon care for my 4-year-old son, Gus. You’d pick him up at his preschool in Harvard Square and then bring him home or explore the city together (no housework or meal prep required). We live near Aeronaut Brewing in Somerville, which is walking distance from his school and an easy bus ride from Tufts. 

Us: Gus is adventurous, friendly, creative, has an incredible zest for life, and is a ton of fun. He loves playgrounds, ice cream, dinosaurs, telling jokes, T-rides, and making new friends. I’m a solo mom who taught preschool for 20 years and now runs a preschool (the one that Gus goes to).  

You: Someone who enjoys the company of preschoolers, warm and kind with an adventurous spirit. Gus is a little extra vibrant and more active than your average preschooler (I’ve got strategies in place and I’m happy to tell you more), so a background in child development and/or experience babysitting would come in handy (though isn’t necessary). 

Required hours: Tuesday 3-6 and Wednesday 3-6. 

Additional hours that would be wonderful: Monday 12-3, Tuesday 12-3, Wednesday 12-3, and Friday 12-3. Monday 7pm-8pm. 

Pay: $23+ based on experience. Guaranteed hours, paid time off, sick days. 

Start date: ASAP, through the rest of the semester, and hopefully next semester (and next year), too.

Nanny for Infant (Near Tufts)

Seeking a part time nanny for two full days a week when I return to work. Our son will be 4 months by the time we would require help. Must be comfortable with dogs as we have a very happy and well trained 5 year old chocolate lab. We live right next to tufts campus for convenience. We can be flexible on which two days depending on class schedules/other jobs/etc. 

Our son is a very happy and easy going baby. One day one of us may be working from home and we would care for our dog, but on days we are both in the office some light pet care would be required (simply letting her out in the fenced in yard to pee)

Transportation Needed for 5-year old child (Arlington, MA)

We are seeking someone to pick up our 5yo son from his school in East Arlington at 2:30pm and drop him off at home, also in East Arlington, at 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During those hours the primary responsibility is transporting him to weekly events in Burlington and Lexington, so access to a car and a good driving record are essential. 
During the time not absorbed by travel and events, he enjoys going to libraries and arts and crafts. He’s generally a happy, bright, friendly, and slightly silly guy! 
Hourly salary in the range of $32-36/hr depending on level of experience, we will reimburse for mileage and parking costs.

After-school Childcare (Cambridge)

This job includes picking our kids up from school, bringing them home and spending the evening with them till after dinner time. This job is perfect for a graduate student, a teacher and other roles. After-school Childcare (Arlington, MA)

We’re looking for help after school for our two boys (ages 4. 5yrs and 6.5yrs), and we need care M-F from 2:00-5:00. If you’re only available for some of those days, we’d still love to hear from you. The hourly rate ranges from $30-$35/hr depending on experience. 

We both work from home, and we live in a 2-family house in Arlington. My in-laws live on the first floor and often take one of the boys on an adventure so most days you’d only have one child.

The boys love being outside, riding their scooters, playing Magnatiles, and building with Legos so we’re looking for a loving and fun person to spend the afternoons with them. We hope that person is you!

What are the hours?

  • hours: Monday through Friday
  • 9am to 3pm, 30 hours per week
  • Possible weekends
  • One can do one or multiple days a week, all the hours or few hours a week.
  • Salary: $27+ ( negotiable based on education and experience)

What are the duties?

  • With Iram, plan the day – Write up a schedule.
  • Help Iram transition from one activity to the next.
  • Help Iram expand his repertoire of preferred activities
  • Go for walks
  • Purchase items needed and prepare lunch.
  • Purchase and serve healthy snack or lunch (lunch cost for Iram provided  by family)
  • Assist with daily living activities such as toothbrushing, handwashing, walking, playgrounds, library, local errands etc.
  • help plan life skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, folding. Budget
  • Bank card or cash purchase skills.
  • Take Iram to volunteer jobs or paid job when family can arrange one for Iram.
  • Take Iram to Gym, swim
  • Take Iram to community outing like Mall, zoo, Aquarium , mini golfing.

Job Requirements:

  • Education/Degree in Special need is required. Prior caregiver experience required. Prior experience working with special needs individual is required.
  • Has to go through usual background check.
  • Responsible, punctual person with excellent hygiene and strong references.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Safe, reliable vehicle. Typical transportation needs are within 5 miles but even if drive is further the mileage will be paid.
  • Ideal caregiver will be nice, kind, calm, warm, upbeat, curious, active, energetic.

AM Daycare (Somerville)

Description: Looking for a (morning person!) student who can bring my 3 year old daughter to daycare in the morning. We live in Somerville on Cedar Street by the bike path and her daycare is a pleasant 20 minute walk or a 10 minute drive (we have a car seat we can loan you) in the event of rain or just unpleasant walking conditions. 
Hours would be 7-9am Monday-Wednesday, possibility for some Thursdays as well. Would love for this to potentially grow a relationship for regular babysitting for date nights/evenings. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping get 3 year old ready in the morning: getting dressed, breakfast
  • Bringing 3 year old to daycare (drop off is anytime between 8 and 8:30 am)
  • Returning stroller/car seat to our home after drop off 

Pay: $20-$25/hour depending on experience
