Peter Rough: American internationalism in an era of polarization: the case for supporting Ukraine

October 16, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 2:00 pm

Please join Peter Rough for a discussion on coalition-building in Washington, the role of think-tanks in national security, the war in Ukraine, and the prospects for American internationalism. Peter Rough is the director of the Center on Europe and Eurasia at Hudson Institute, a Washington, D.C. based think-tank focusing on U.S. national security. As the digital revolution ripples through society, wreaking havoc on traditional media, the demand for trusted expertise in Washington has rarely been higher. Moreover, U.S. society is grappling with how to think about America’s place in the world as isolationists offer an alternative to traditional U.S. foreign policy. The withdrawal from Afghanistan marks the bookend of one era just as the rise of China augurs a new one. More than any other event, Russia’s attack on Ukraine has clarified the stakes of this transition. Register via Eventbrite to attend the event.
