Why are Russia and the United States So Concerned about Each Other?

Please join us on February 15 for a luncheon lecture with Professor Ivan Kurilla, who is traveling from the European University at Saint Petersburg. His lecture, titled “Why are Russia and the United States So Concerned about Each Other?”, will focus on the constructivist approach to the history of U.S.-Russia relations.

Ivan Kurilla has been a Professor of European University at Saint Petersburg since 2015. Previously, he was a Professor of History and International Relations at Volgograd State University. His primary field of interest is the history of U.S.-Russian relations, especially during antebellum and Civil War periods of the American history. He has organized workshops, published articles and edited volumes on the theme of the use of history, historical memory and historical politics in Russia and on the Post-Soviet space. Kurilla has also published articles on the relations between the State and Society in contemporary Russia.
