Rising Power Coalitions and Global Crises in 2021: Implications of the September BRICS Summit for Global Governance

Please join CIERP for a discussion on rising power coalitions and global crises. Global governance is currently facing multiple simultaneous crises including the climate crisis, the ongoing pandemic and widespread financial challenges. There are also international security challenges such as the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and a militarized standoff between China and India. How is the BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) rising power coalition responding? Please join Rising Power Alliances project researchers as they discuss these crises considering the September BRICS summit outcome and its implications for U.S. roles in global governance.  The speakers will discuss these crises considering the September BRICS summit outcome and its implications for U.S. roles in global governance. This discussion is part of Fletcher’s ongoing multi-year Rising Power Alliances project funded by the federal Minerva Research Initiative.
