Get Help

Library staff members are available to assist you remotely via email, chat, or text

Librarian Assistance

Research & Instruction librarians will be available for consultations and assistance via phone and video conference. Feel free to request a consultation using our Schedule a Consultation form or to contact your Liaison directly.

Accessing Resources

Most of our resources are online and we have new access to materials not previously accessible online. We have created a guide, Library Resources During the COVID-19 Pandemic to assist you with accessing resources and library services remotely. For general information about accessing resources off campus, please visit our Getting Started with Off Campus Access page.

Checking Out Physical Books

Self-checkout is now available for Hirsh Library books. Please see our post about self-checkout for more information.

Students, faculty, and staff are able to request books from any Tufts library for contactless pickup at HHSL. Detailed information on how to request items via JumboSearch is available here. Once your books arrive, wait for an email from our circulation team detailing which locker number your books are in, and the combination for the locker.

If you cannot come to campus to check out or pick up books, we are now offering mail delivery for patrons within the United States.

Interlibrary Loan

We are gradually reinstating requests for physical items through ILL.

Please be advised that turnaround times may take longer than user due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Visiting the Library

In keeping with the University guidelines, if you plan to visit the Library you must observe rules regarding wearing masks and completing a screening survey prior to arrival. Once you enter the building, you will need to show the security officer a completed Tufts Symptoms survey on your phone (or printed copy)  The survey can be accessed via https://covidscreening.tufts.edu, the Tufts mobile app, or the Healthy @ Tufts portal. You will not be admitted into the building until you have completed this survey and get the All Clear sign. You need to complete the screening survey any day you come to the School.  We ask that you remain vigilant in keeping your mask on while studying in the building for your safety and the safety of others in nearby proximity.

Thank you for helping us keep the Tufts Community healthy. Please visit the University’s official page for all Tufts-wide information and updates and check with your school/department for specific information about your program.
