Michele Klein spent 25 years in leadership roles at the International Organization of Migration (IOM), most recently serving as IOM’s Regional Director for Central and North America and the Caribbean. She previously established a new policy hub in the IOM’s Office of the Director General, led the agency’s efforts on the development of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, and served as IOM’s representative to the U.N. in New York. Prior to IOM, she was the principal refugee and migration lawyer for the U.S. State Department. 

She will share her insights on how the reconfiguration of foreign assistance and global humanitarianism is likely to affect migration governance around the world. She will also discuss the impact on career paths for young professionals hoping to work in these spaces. 

This event is open to members of the Fletcher and Tufts communities and invited guests.
