The Museum of Science is actively searching for an experienced and enthusiastic, upbeat front-line Visitor Services Specialist who thrives in a highly trafficked public environment. Cash handling skills required. Exemplary customer service and communication skills a must! Ability to work independently and efficiently as needed. Flexibility and multitasking skills highly desirable. This is a uniformed position that requires working during scheduled holiday periods and school vacation weeks due to increased attendance.
- 20,000 – 50,000 guests per week depending on the season.
- Up to 15,000 guests per day during school vacation week / holiday periods or special exhibitions.
- 1,000 – 3,000 school children per day during the school year.
- Up to 500 transactions per cashier, per day.
This position is full-time, 34.5 hours a week, with the following schedule:
- Monday, 8:45am – 4:45pm
- Wednesday, 9:30am – 6:00pm
- Thursday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
- Friday, 8:45am – 4:45pm
- Saturday, 4:00pm – 10:00pm
Additional Summer and School Vacation Hours include:
- Wednesday, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Director, Visitor Services
- Post high school course work, technical degree, associates, degree or business certificate preferred.
- One (1) or more years of retail/customer service experience.
Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
