How I first learned about Fletcher: I first heard about Fletcher from one of my best friends who attended the school and highly recommended that I apply. After investigating the MALD program that Fletcher offers, and talking to two of my undergraduate professors, it was clear that Fletcher had many synergies with my interests in areas such as international security and international negotiation. Additionally, I wanted my graduate school to be comparable to my undergraduate school in providing a strong community ethos and a diverse student body with students who, like me, wanted to make a difference in the international arena. Fletcher encompasses all of this and more, so the choice to apply was easy!

Fletcher and my career goals: The Fletcher School is the catalyst that will help me achieve my professional goals. In the immediate future, I want to gain a solid and broad knowledge of international affairs with a focus on international security and international negotiation. Fletcher’s Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy program provides this opportunity. This knowledge coupled with my  experiences and skills from living and learning in various regions – in St. Andrews, London, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Buenos Aires, Lima and Washington D.C. – will help me thrive at Fletcher and beyond. They will equip me with first-hand experience of the complexities of working on the international stage, and the patience and determination that is required to reach worthy goals. Ultimately, gaining my Masters at the Fletcher School will no doubt serve me well throughout my professional career in international security. My time at Fletcher will add to my international experience not only by learning outside of my native country, but also learning from my peers who, like me, want to make a profound difference in the international community.
