The Eliot-Pearson Children’s School is a laboratory-demonstration school at Tufts University. Since 1922, children have always been at the center of everything we do. We strive to provide children with what they need to deepen their sense of self and self-worth. We welcome all families and partner with them to nurture their children and grow as a community. We are licensed through NAEYC and EEC to serve children and families ages 2 years and nine months through age 7.
At EPCS, we have three core values: Anti-bias education, mindfulness, and connection to nature. All of our children are affirmed in who they are and what they can bring to the community through our anti-bias education which promotes awareness, inclusion, compassion, individual and collective voices, and taking action for fairness and equity. Through mindfulness our students learn how to pay attention to what is essential at the moment both indoors and outdoors. In our natural playground, we guide children to settle and grow their awareness of their bodies and surroundings. We commit to fostering children’s wonder and appreciation of our planet, Earth, and deepen their understanding of how their actions and stewardship matter.
