From the Panama Papers to the Azerbaijani and Russian Laundromats, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) has produced groundbreaking investigative reporting on the hidden financial flows that form large parts of the world financial system. Ilya Lozovsky, the organization’s managing editor, will discuss how such investigations work from the inside and what role they play in defending and strengthening the democratic world. Depending on interest, he can also talk about (investigative) journalism as a career path in a time when the industry is experiencing serious challenges.
