Reception: Three Milestones that Shaped the Armenian Identity
April 19, 2018 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
This year Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora throughout the world celebrate 3 important anniversaries: The Centennial of the First Republic of Armenia, the 30th Anniversary of the Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Freedom Movement and the 2800 years of Yerevan. Dozens of events will be organized in Armenia and abroad to celebrate the coinciding anniversaries, to present the millennia-old, traditions, the desire of freedom, security and independence, and Armenia as a destination for tourism, education and high tech.
Philanthropist Aso Tavitian, the Armenian Ambassador to the United States Grigor Hovhannisyan (Fletcher grad, tbc), the Permanent Representative of Nagorno Karabakh in the US Robert Avetisyan (Fletcher grad) will address the event.
Armenian scholars at Fletcher School will present the respective topics from their perspective, followed by a group performance of an Armenian song. Light food and refreshments will be offered.
