In honor of Patriots’ Day here in Massachusetts (a holiday about the Battles of Lexington and Concord in the Revolutionary War, not the football team like I thought when I was a child), Hirsh Health Sciences Library will be “closed” on Sunday and Monday, April 18th & 19th.

We will not be monitoring Live Chat, but we will still be checking Ask Us. So if you have a question, feel free to submit it there (or e-mail hhsl@tufts.edu), and you’ll get an answer all the same.

Have a great weekend!

In observance of Patriots’ Day, the Library Service Desk will be open from 12pm-7pm on Monday April 15th. We will reopen for normal hours on Tuesday.

Patriots’ Day commemorates the first battles of the American Revolution at Lexington and Concord, which took place on April 19th, 1775. It is also the traditional day for the Boston Marathon. How did these two events come to be linked? Hop over to this short article by The History Channel to find out!

For those interested in celebrating, MassLive has a good rundown of all the events going on this weekend, both Minuteman and Marathon -related.

We hope you enjoy the long weekend and wish good luck to any Jumbos running the race!

For those of you who haven’t been in the city on Patriots’ Day, this is the same day as the Boston Marathon. Make sure you plan your travel arrangements ahead of time so you don’t get stuck in traffic! And good luck to any Jumbos running the race!

Hello everyone! This Monday (April 17th) is Patriots’ Day here in Boston, which means two things: the Boston Marathon, and holiday hours at HHSL!

The Library Service Desk on the 4th floor of Sackler will be open from noon to 7pm on Monday, April 17th. The Sackler building will have its regular hours for swipe access.

The Boston Marathon’s finish line is right outside the Boston Public Library, but the route stretches much further! If you’re interested in checking it out, the Boston Athletic Association has you covered.

So enjoy the long weekend and remember to stay hydrated!
