After-school Care (West Medford)

Description: We are looking for a regular afterschool care provider for two kindergarteners in West Medford on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 2:45 – 5:30pm, starting immediately. Our boys have had a care share since the start of the school year and are used to playing with each other. The caregiver must have experience caring for two similarly aged children at a time and be comfortable playing with children outdoors, weather permitting. If the caregiver is interested, we’d appreciate help during early dismissal days once a month, and one of our families would also be interested in an additional day of afterschool care per week, with just one of the children. Description: They are looking for a dependable and safety-conscious babysitter to care for a two-year-old on occasional weekends and / or weekday mornings. Responsibilities include supervising and fostering a safe environment for play in our home, changing diapers, and managing snack time. 

The ideal candidate has prior childcare experience, is up-to-date on vaccines (COVID, flu, TDAP), is reliable, and has excellent communication skills. Must pass a background check. 

Availability: Weekends (flexible timing) and / or weekday mornings (for weekday mornings, typically 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM)

Afternoon Babysitting (West Cambridge)

We have a 2.5 & 5 year old girls that we’re looking for care for a few afternoons a week. We can be flexible about schedule, if needed. 


Description: Taking care of sometimes just our 2.5 year old (especially if you have a driver’s license and could do school pick-up some days), and other times, both girls, who enjoy playing together. Would involve feeding snacks, going to playgrounds, or playing in the backyard. If more hours are desired, we will happily accommodate if open to light housework (ie. Loading/emptying dishwasher, laundry, etc.)

Days: Tuesday & Friday 12-5 pm (can be flexible or add additional hours)

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $28-30/hr, based on experience  – prioritizing applicants who have their own car/drive regularly (our car would be available for picking up kids)

After-School Care for Two Boys (Arlington)

We’re looking for a loving and fun person to help care for our two boys (ages 4.5 and 6.5) Monday through Friday from 2:00-5:00 PM. If you’re only available on certain days or need a few more hours, we’d still love to hear from you!

Hourly rate: $25-$35/hr, based on experience.

We both work from home in a cozy 2-family house in Arlington. My in-laws live downstairs and often take one of the boys on adventures, so most days you’ll be spending time with just one child.

The boys love being outside, riding their scooters, playing with Magnatiles, and building with Legos. If you enjoy engaging with energetic kids and creating a fun afternoon, we think you’d be a great fit!

Babysitting Opportunity [West Cambridge]

Job description:

We are looking for a kind, motivated person to pick our two little kids up from school and play with them for a total of 2 hours per weekday afternoon. 
These shifts would be Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:30-4:30pm at $30/hour.
You will need your own car (registered and insured) to go pick up our 2 and 4 year old daughters from two different schools and bring them home. Then check if they would like a snack and spend the rest of the time having fun together. (They love being outdoors!)
A quick tidy at the end of your shift is expected, but we highly encourage you to have the kids help clean up their toys.
Though not completely necessary, we lean strongly towards hiring a woman (or female born) for this job.

Job requirements: 

Registered and insured car of your own – clean driving record – prior experience working with small children – motivation, kindness and patience – willingness to tidy up after the kids (the mess that was created while playing)
Pay: $30/hour

Afterschool care for 3 boys in Somerville (Davis/Porter)

We are a family that lives in the teele square area of Somerville.  We are currently looking for reliable afterschool childcare for our 3 boys (ages 6, 6 & 8). 

Details:  The boys would need to be picked up from their school in Porter Square.  They can be walked to our home, local parks or activities. The school and our home are both accessible with public transportation, so driving is not required.

Schedule: Mom works in healthcare and has a variable schedule.  Most needs would be every Monday from 2:30pm-5:45/6pm and sometimes Wednesdays as well from 1pm-5:45/6pm.  On average we would need coverage 1-2 days/week.

Pay:  $25/h with guaranteed 4 hours pay when needed on Mondays and 5 hours guaranteed when needed on Wednesdays.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Two teacher parents looking for help getting our three kids (7, 5, and 4) ready on Mondays through Fridays, as well as walking our youngest to school next door.

DETAILS

  1. Arrive at 6:30 to help with morning routine (breakfast, making lunches, getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc.).
  1. We leave by 7:20 to walk the eldest two to the bus, and then head to work. You would stay with our youngest until 7:50, then walk him to preschool at Arlington Children’s Center located literally next door (1 minute walk).
  1. We do not need help over the summer, but will need help again starting late August.
  1. Opportunity for additional weekend babysitting if interested.

Afternoon babysitting (Lexington)

Hi everyone!
We are a young family in Lexington with a fun and engaging 2.5 year old and are expecting our second child in a few weeks! We are looking for someone to babysit our 2.5 year old for a couple afternoons a week during the spring semester while we make the transition to the family of four.

Responsibilities: You would be responsible for our 2.5 year old only. He is super fun and interactive (and is potty trained). Responsibilities would include playing with him, taking him to playgrounds and parks within walking distance (as weather allows), and feeding him a snack.

Hours: 2 afternoons a week from 2:30-6 pm (hours are somewhat flexible and we’re open to 1 or even 3 afternoons for the right candidate!)

Start Date: Flexible! We’d like to start before early February, but we can also start sooner.

Compensation: $20-25/hr, based on experience. Someone with their own transportation is preferred, but we’re open to supplementing travel for the right candidate.

Hello!

We’re looking for morning help with our two-year-old in Ball Square, Somerville, near Tufts University. The position is for 2-3 days a week, from 6:45 AM to 8:00 AM, starting now and continuing until late May or June 2025. Mondays are required, with flexibility for 1-2 additional days (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday).

Duties include:

  • Serving a pre-prepared breakfast
  • Playing, reading books, and occasional singing or dancing
  • Managing allergy care (EpiPen) and general supervision

Our son has a history of medical complexity but is stable now, and we’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented and familiar with allergy management.

Requirements:

We offer guaranteed pay with a two-week cancellation notice for our time off or travel. Pay is $28-32/hour, depending on experience.
