Babysitter Needed For 3 Children [Cambridge]

Description: We have 3 active and engaging kids (ages 6-10) who need help to coordinate afterschool activities, homework, or just unwinding at home or nearby park. The job entails picking them up from the bus stop (1 block from our home) and bringing them to our house. Our ideal is someone who can commit to all 5 days but if not, we have had success coordinating 2 babysitters who collectively fill the week so even if you have a few days please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Our ideal applicant is highly organized and can feel like extended family. We are looking to develop close relationships with our kids. A driver’s license and good driving record is a must. We prefer someone who has a car (gas money included in pay) but that is not a requirement, and is a non-smoker with a college degree or is in college or graduate school.

Location: North Cambridge

When: M-F 3:30-6:30p

Pay: $29-35 depending on experience

Occasional evening and/or weekend sitter [near Powderhouse/Packard]

Seeking occasional evening and/or weekend sitters for our 3 boys (ages 7, 4, and 1.5) less than 0.25 miles from campus, near Powderhouse/Packard.

Duties include playing with and reading to kids, dinner (will provide), diapering for youngest, and bedtime. All kids are usually in bed for the night by 8! Weekend sitting may involve walking/scooting with kids to nearby parks. No driving/travel required. FYI we have 2 cats, no pet care involved.

When: 2-3 x per month, usually 5:30-9:30pm, potentially daytime weekend hours if desired. Specifically looking for October 7 and 17th evenings but also seeking sitters for future dates TBD.

Evening babysitter who can drive children to activities (Magoun Square)

Looking for an evening babysitter for our 2 kids (ages 11 and 8) who can pick up children from school (Cambridge) and drive them home or to their afterschool activities. Need a minimum of twice per week (~4:30 pm to 6:30 pm), flexibility with days of the week. Requires a clean driving record and ability to drive in Somerville and surrounding towns (Cambridge, Newton, Arlington, etc). No need to cook or clean (besides light clean-up from food/games during babysitting time). No pets or other responsibilities.

Pay: $23+/hr commensurate with experience.

2-Week Childcare Opportunity available (Medford)

The job is to take care of my almost 5 year old little girl. Pick her up from her pre-school at Medford, spend time with her either at local playground, library or at our home until I return from work. Must be able to drive.

Occasional Babysitter [Medford]

Description: Family of 5 in Medford looking for an occasional afternoon, evening, and/or weekend babysitter. We have three kids (2 yo, 6yo, 9yo). They like to play outside, play card games, do arts and crafts, imaginative play. All three get along well. The older two girls often will play together and don’t need as much from a sitter (but still love to play w babysitters).

Both parents work in schools so we sometimes need help if we both have school commitments that day. That might involve dinner prep and bedtime. It could also mean driving to or from a kid’s activity. We are also looking for folks who may be available for a date night or weekend day when needed.

Dates: The first two immediate dates we’re looking for are September 16, 5-7:45pm and September 20, 6:30-9:30pm.

Pay: $20-25 depending on experience and how many kids are being cared for.

Location/Transportation: You would need your own transportation. Having your own car is a plus because we may need help picking kids up sometimes but it is not a requirement. We are located about a half mile from Medford Square.

Babysitter Needed [Woburn]

Description: Looking for a dependable babysitter to provide before-school care for our 3-year-old five days a week starting after Labor Day.  

Our ideal candidate is someone responsible, experienced, and eager to have fun with our energetic kiddo.  A reliable car and clean driving record are necessary.  

The responsibilities include:

  • Finish getting ready for the day (i.e. tooth brushing)
  • Engage with play and activities
  • Drive 5 mins from Woburn to Winchester
  • Do drop off at preschool in Winchester center (Wisdom Tree Children’s Center). Our daughter loves going to school, and drop offs are generally easy.

Pay: $25/hour 

Schedule: 7:15-8:15 a.m., 5 days a week, for the 25-26 school year

Date night babysitter and occasional daytime sitter [Medford]

Description: Looking for a date night babysitter and occasional daytime sitter (would likely be Fridays) for our 2 year old daughter. 

Our daughter is sweet and engaging, and can be shy so we’d love a patient and friendly babysitter. She loves reading and songs. Our hope is that we can find a babysitter who can do Sat or Sun date night care 1-2x a month, which would include a bedtime routine of bath, reading, brushing teeth, and bedtime. We occasionally might need Friday daytime care (playground, mealtime, etc.) but Friday availability is not a requirement for this role.

We’d like to find someone who loves toddlers and all their mysteries. Previous childcare experience required. 

Where: We are in W Medford near Pikaichi, right off the 94/80 bus lines. We’re happy to pay for an Uber/Lyft back.

Pay: $28/hour.

Regular weekend and occasional weeknight babysitter [Medford]

Description: Looking for a regular babysitter for 2-3x month for weekend nights and an occasional weeknight for our 3 young kids – twin boys age 6 and girl is age 9. Our previous sitter of 2 years graduated from Tufts this past spring, so we are looking for someone new!

Location: We are located in Medford Square, just 5 min. from Tufts. Hours typically 5-10 PM, and dates can be flexible based on mutual needs and schedule. $25/hour. References required. 

Ideal if you are a grad student in a helping profession – Occupational therapy, early childhood education, psychology, social work, special education etc. Also ideal if you have a car, but can accommodate those without.

Childcare help sought a few afternoons a week (Cambridge)

Looking for help with afterschool care – walking/driving home, getting snack, getting ready for afterschool activities, hanging out – any afternoons a week for 6/9/10 year olds. We are especially interested in Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays. The older kids are pretty self-sufficient but the little one could use a friend to play Uno with and go to the park every once in a while. Ability to drive and access to a car is preferable but not necessary. End time is listed as 5:30 but that can be flexible depending on everyone’s schedules. We are a mile from campus center, at the edge of Cambridge/Arlington.

Pay: $26-28

Schedule: 2:30-5:30 M/T/Th; 1:30-5:30 W

Afterschool care in Medford

Hi, we are looking for a babysitter to provide afterschool care for our 6- and 2.5-yo girls, 3-4 days per week starting  after Labor day.

The responsibilities include:

  • Pick up both kids from their school and daycare and transport them home (all in Medford)-a car and clean driving license are the must!
  • Take them to the park when the weather permits (walking or driving)
  • Engage them with activities
  • Help with snacks and dinner time (no cooking is required)
  • Give them bath as needed 

Pay: $28-30/hour depending on experience

Schedule: 4:30-7pm, 3-4 days a week
