Part-Time Nanny/Babysitter (Medford)

Job Description: Hi there! We’re a Tufts Fletcher family living on campus through Summer 2023. We’re looking for weekday afternoon help with picking up our 6 year old from kindergarten at West Somerville Neighborhood School (by walking, three blocks away) on most days at 2:25 pm, bringing her home, helping with snacks, and keeping her occupied while mom works remotely from home and dad is at Fletcher. The job potentially would include driving (no more than 15-20 min each way) our child to afternoon sports/activities and then back to home afterward. We will provide a car with a car seat installed. We also have a 4 year old who needs to be picked up around 5:15 pm from daycare, by walking, two blocks away (by this time mom will probably be done work so you wouldn’t always have to lug both kids). We may be interested in having you work additional hours if you’re interested/available, such as on school days off, when the 6 year old has early dismissal on occasional Wednesdays (school dismissal noon), or an occasional evening babysitting session, but we can discuss those needs later. We are also open to two caregivers splitting the duties throughout the week–ideally, two individuals who already know each other so it is easier to coordinate/back each other up. Again, we’re only here for the current academic year (possibly to June/July). If you’re potentially interested, but not sure of all the details, please feel free to reach out to us so we can discuss!

Potential Start Date:  Late November or early December 2022 (to be finalized with you)

Work Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:15pm – 5:45pm daily (approximately).  Other hours on an ad-hoc / mutually agreed basis.

Compensation:  $25 per hour (or potentially more with significant experience/qualifications).  Bonus for fluent Mandarin Chinese and/or Korean speakers if you use it with our children.

Location: Sawyer Ave, Medford (on Tufts campus)

Requirements:

  • Full vaccination and booster series for COVID-19
  • Prior experience caring for young children (with references as appropriate)
  • Clean driving history, valid driver’s license for use in Massachusetts
  • Pass an online background check (we will pay for it)
  • We especially welcome Tufts students (both undergraduate and graduate) to reach out to us if interested!

Opportunity to Nanny

Hello Tufts students! We are a Melrose based family with a 4.5 daughter and a 2 year old son. I am a Nurse Director at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and my husband, Jason, a biomedical engineer based out of a company in Burlington, MA.

We are looking for someone to help us while we are in a transition in care for our son. Our daughter has started Pre-K at the Goddard School (7:30am -5:30pm M-F) and is loving life! Our son is in a full time toddler program currently, however, we are in search of a nanny(s) for him to meet his curious and intelligent little mind while we wait for him to get a spot in the same pre-school program as his sister! He’s speaking in full sentences and questions and is eager to learn! He still naps once a day as well! Melrose has great kids activities and programs including a zoo, follow your art, dance/gymnastics at the YMCA, etc.

Any candidates interested in helping our family should have the ability to drive (car seats will be provided), and full vaccination and booster series for COVID-19.

Start date: October 2022Days/times needed: 730-530pm or 7a-5p; M-F

Pay: negotiable based on experience; raised after the first 90days (introductory period)
We are open to 1-2 individuals as we know these hours may be difficult for your studies or enrolling him in 2-3 days of a program vs. full-time if that aligns best with the scheduling needs.

Initially will be 2-3 days per month, possibly more depending on availability, and potentially full-time summer 2023. We have two children: a 3 year old who is generally well-behaved and enjoys playing with vehicles and being outside, and a 3 month old. Tasks include playing with our children, feeding snacks or meals, bottle-feeding, and diaper changing. Need to be Covid-vaccinated and boosted and a non-smoker. Prefer CPR certified. Prefer someone to have their own transportation but can also make other arrangements. Location is West Medford but may also need help with pickup from daycare which is only a few blocks from Tufts. Seeking part or full-time nanny (West Medford)

Our family of three is looking for a full-time or several part-time nannies/babysitters (around 9-5 or 10-4, M-F) to watch our baby boy starting in August. He will be 7 months old at that time. Must have: their own way to get to our home in West Medford (accessible via #94 95, 96 buses from Tufts campus) and both Covid vaccine doses + booster, comfortable with dogs (we have a small, friendly, hypoallergenic dog). Highly preferred: someone with infant care experience, fluent/conversational in Spanish and/or Japanese. Both parents will be home and working remotely in a separate area of the house. Our baby boy is a happy, easygoing baby who smiles a lot and loves to play. For any inquiries or to apply, please email svhh1022@gmail.com
