Babysitting (Mass Ave near Porter and Davis)

Hi! We are looking for a reliable / punctual / lively babysitter for our 4yo son. He’s attending public pre-K (via bus) but we will need some after-school assistance, particularly on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting in September (additional days may be available, we can talk, but these are the firm needs). We think he’s pretty fun, loves playing, loves drawing. We’re on Mass Ave near Porter and Davis.

The baseline week: Pick our son up from the bus stop near our place on Wednesday (3pm) and Thursday (3:40pm). We will pay an extra 15min on the start end so you can be a bit early to the bus stop! There are nearby parks, and a library, or playing at home is great too. This will be an all-walking situation, no car or other transit needed. In general we will pick up our other child (1.5yo) from daycare and you’ll be done when we get home (by 5:45pm). So the general norm would be 5.5 hr / week. We’re thinking $30/hr.

We might partner with another family if you’re open to multiple kids (hourly fee would adjust accordingly), but wanted to start talking to folks first.

If you’re interested in longer hours, we might sometimes ask you to also pick up our daughter at 5:30pm (her daycare is three blocks away) and handle kid dinner with the two of them … this is not a core expectation, but we’re hoping for someone who’d be willing and able to extend (with advance warning of course) when we have evening stuff (let’s say two or three times a month).

Please email me at jamesdgraham@gmail.com if you’re interested! Thanks.

Ideally we want someone with extensive experience with children their ages and experience watching multiple children. We would want you to enjoy playing with them and taking them to nearby playgrounds. For this summer we are hoping for someone to help us 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours. There is  potential for continued help during the week starting in September if that is of interest and can be discussed upon meeting. The pay will be discussed based on experience and will be in line with area standards.

Part-time Babysitter in Medford

We are looking for a part-time babysitter for our 16-month-old son this summer in Medford, starting as soon as possible.

We are looking for coverage Mondays and Thursdays from 9am-1pm and can be somewhat flexible with those times. Responsibilities would include feeding him breakfast and lunch, and playing with and supervising him. We live near several playgrounds and a walking path where you could take him – he loves being outside! Our son is playful, sweet, and independent. He is also timid and can struggle with separation anxiety when left with a new caregiver at first.

Our ideal candidate would be CPR/first aid certified, have experience with children around our son’s age, and be comfortable managing separation anxiety as he warms up to you. Possibility of continuing in the fall if it works with both schedules.

Pay: $25/hour
