I’m a Tufts alum seeking an experienced sitter for my 5 year old and 7 year old. 

What: Pick the kids up from the bus, take them to the playground or library (both adjacent to the bus stop), bring them back to our house. 

When: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, beginning ASAP

Where: Bus stop, park, library, and our house are all a 10 minute walk from Davis Square. No car required.

Rate: We pay $25-28 an hour based on experience.

Potential for additional evenings and weekends if we’re a good fit for each other.

Babysitter Needed [Winchester]

Hello! 

We are a loving family with two wonderful daughters (ages 6.5 and 4.5) and one tiny dog!

We are looking for a kind and empathetic student who genuinely loves playing and taking care of children to help us in the afternoon from 3:30 – 6:30PM, preferably Monday, Tuesday and/or Thursday afternoons.

A little more on us – We have had a nanny for 7 years, but now that our younger daughter is in school, we are parting ways and exploring new childcare options. We live nearby in Winchester, MA and are targeting ~$25-30 per hour, but are open to discussion for the right person.  A strong natural fit is most important to us! 

In addition, we are hoping to find someone who can occasionally help play with the girls on “no-school days.” For example, parent-teacher conference days, Veteran’s Day, MLK Day, some days of Feb and April breaks, etc.

Aftercare for a Pre-K on Thursdays (near Davis Sq)

Hello! We are looking for someone who can pick up our Pre-K, 4yo son at the bus stop (~5min walk from our house) on Thursdays at 3:30pm. We are located in Cambridge along Mass Ave a few blocks from Davis Square, bus drops him off at Peabody Elementary.

Most Thursdays, one of us will pick up our 2yo daughter from daycare and meet you and our son at home around 5:30pm (so, a 2hr baseline). But we are hoping to find someone who would also be able to handle getting the second kid / dinner / even potentially bedtime on occasional Thursdays when we have evening things (we pay extra when the 2yo is in the mix).

Further hours (and occasional other evenings) are a possibility, but the Thursday pickup is the main thing we’re trying to plan for this spring. It could start in mid-January or as late as February 12th, depending on what works for you. $30/hr.

Part-Time Babysitter Needed [Somerville]

Description and Duties: We are looking for a babysitter for our 12 month old son in Somerville for approximately 10-15 hours per week. Mom works from home part-time so may be in the home at times, but you would be taking the lead regardless. Our son is active, social, silly,  and loves playtime and activities could include: play-time at home, walks on the community path to the playground, library, playdates etc. You will be responsible for keeping him on his schedule which depending on the time of day, may include: feeding him   ( bottle or solids that are prepared in advance by parents or by you if agreed upon in advance), changing diaper, putting him down and getting him up for naps, dressing him in weather appropriate clothes for walks. 

Location: Somerville .8 miles from Tufts campus between Magoun and Davis Sq. We live right off the community path and have a parking spot for you. We are a 2 minute walk from the Magoun Sq T stop.  

Schedule: Exact times are flexible, can vary week to week if needed,  but would need to be on Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday. 

Pay: $20-$25 p/hour

Additional: Both parents work in education with combined backgrounds in school counseling,school leadership, early childhood, special education, and behavior analysis. We love meeting and mentoring new educators and would love to be a local resource for you as you advance your career!

Babysitter [Medford/Malden]

Details: Babysitting/in home care for our 2.5 year old son who loves to play and spend time with others! He is very friendly, social, sweet, and has all developmental milestones. He is very verbal and independent for 2.5 yrs old making it easy to communicate his wants and needs. 

We live in a single family home with a fenced in yard, across the street from a lovely public park with walking paths and a beautiful pond. In the spring it is known for all the ducklings and goslings that wander around. Additionally, we live .3 miles from another park with a child’s playground, basketball court, tennis courts, and sports fields. We also live within walking distance from coffee shops, restaurants, Medford Target, and many more stores.

Our son loves spending time outside (weather permitting). In addition to playing with our son during this time, you will be responsible for monitoring him and giving him provided snack/meals. (We have all snack/lunches prepared for sitters so it is easier, you simply just have to give it to him when he is hungry and monitor him so he eats his food safely.)

Both my husband and I work remotely so will be upstairs the majority of the time. With the exception of occasionally leaving the house to run errands, to the gym, or work related trips. (we try our best to stay out of the way but are around to assist if needed. (e.g Babysitter needs a break/take a lunch, we can come down to provide relief) 

Job requirements: A car to travel to our home, previous babysitting experience (references upon request), familiarity with dogs (we have a family dog who is 11yrs old, VERY FRIENDLY, LOVES PEOPLE) and should be open to changing pull ups (can also teach this skill as we did with 2 other babysitters from Tufts last year but it should be noted we are about to potty train so this is not a requirement! CPR certification is a plus but not required! 

Hours: Flexibility if needed/lets chat! Primarily we are looking to provide 4-5 hours of childcare, primarily between the hours of 9-1 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We would be open to sitters that are open the entire 9-5 slot on Tuesdays as well. Can be flexible around class schedules or practices if needed, just need notice to accommodate work schedules. 

Location: Our house is nestled in between the Medford/Malden town line (approx 10 min drive from campus) 

Pay: $21/hr

Babysitter Needed [Arlington]

Description: We are looking for a part time after school sitter to pick up our two lovely children, age 8 and 6 from school in Arlington Heights.  Monday pick up is 2:30pm and I will be home by 4:30pm and Wednesday pick up is 1:00pm and I’ll be home 4:30pm.  The kids’ school is 2.5 blocks away so you can walk or drive to pick them up.  Both kids are social, outgoing, love sports, reading, art etc.    It is easiest to get to us by car.  The kids usually like to stay at the school park to play if weather is nice.  Pay between 25-30/hr.  Please email ckchan916@gmail.com.  Thank you!!

Tutoring Opportunity

I am looking for a tutor/tutors for my two children, ages 10 and 13 (they are in 5th and 8th grade in the Somerville public school system). 

For my 10 year old girl, we are looking for someone to reinforce math skills with her. She gets flustered during class time and would like a little extra practice/reinforcement. We would like to start meeting 1x week, Tuesday or Thursday anytime after she gets out of school (2:30 PM) until 4 or 4:30. 

My 13 year old son has ASD1 and ADHD and is often behind on school work. He could use some supervision/guidance getting work done (ELA and SS are particularly tough for him but sometimes he needs help in math as well). He also could use some assistance making schedules and routines for himself. He enjoys computer programming so someone with a knowledge base in that would be a plus, but not necessary. Tuesday or Thursday are also ideal, 1 hour at a time. 

Ideally this would be the same person, who would work with my daughter for an hour, then my son for another hour. We can start with one day a week and possibly work up to two if it feels right. I can offer $30/hr.
