Ivan Alekseev, better known by his stage name Noize MC, is a Russian hip-hop and rock artist renowned for his sarcastic lyrics, experimental sound, and freestyler talent. His two-decade-long music career started with improvised street performances in downtown Moscow and online battles and progressed to becoming a national act with a loyal fanbase in Russia and far beyond. A consistent and sincere musician, he has also long been an outspoken public figure despite threats of prosecution and show cancelations. In Spring 2022, after denouncing Russia’s war against Ukraine, with fellow artist Monetochka, he launched the Voices of Peace tour that raised €340,000 for Ukrainian refugees. He was recently declared a “foreign agent” by the Russian authorities for his criticism of the war.
