Disasters Journal published Teddy Atim, Dyan Mazurana, and Anastasia Marshak ‘s paper on their study of women survivors of wartime sexual violence. Women survivors face challenges in gaining acceptance on return to their families and societies. The paper analyzes the lives of women survivors and their children born of sexual violence in Uganda. Key findings of the study include the role of stigma, discriminatory sociocultural norms, and women’s economic agency.
