Seeking weekday “Hang Out Buddy” for 12 year old (Concord,MA)

Situation:

My 12 year old (they/them) is recovering from autistic burnout – ASD level 1, persistent drive for autonomy (PDA) profile. They will be doing tutoring at home rather than attending school in person this year. They struggle with peer relationships but desperately want someone who isn’t a parent to hang out with. We are seeking a “hang out buddy” to, well, hang out with them for several hours a week.

To be successful, you will be:

  • Happy to follow directions from a 12 year old, even if that means running around the house in a bathing suit singing the lyrics “I am an idiot, bum bum bum” over and over again
  • Willing to jump on a trampoline and be taught how to do flips from said 12 year old
  • Play video games and lose gracefully
  • Willing to learn about the PDA autism profile

Bonus points if you:

  • Know how to use blender or animation software
  • Play any kind of musical instrument
  • Use Final Cut Pro
  • Have a YouTube presence and are interested in having a 12 year old edit videos for you

We live in Concord, MA (30 min drive from Tufts). Our schedule is flexible, but ideally someone would come hang out for 3-4 hours twice a week, weekdays, during the day. Pay is $20-$25 per hour.

Babysitter needed (Boston Ave)

“In search of kind, experienced, and playful occasional date night babysitters for our spunky 9 and 7 year old kids for the remainder of the summer, fall, and beyond.  We do not have a set schedule in mind, but do have a couple of upcoming dates (8/16 specifically). We live just a short walk from the Boston Ave/Winthrop St intersection and have a fairly large, sweet dog who would always be present.  

Bonus if you play piano, ride a skateboard, or draw comics and are willing to help my kids practice those skills. Positive references required.  $25/hr, occasional evenings for 4 hours or so.

Looking for afterschool care in Arlington

Hello! We are looking for someone to help with afterschool care on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-6pm in Arlington. The position includes picking up our 4yo and 6yo from school at Lesley Ellis School and bringing them home. Part-Time Nanny Position in Arlington

Job Duties: 

We are looking for a kind, energetic, part-time nanny primarily for a happy and active 9-month old. 

We also have two children in kindergarten and preschool. The job will involve watching them for 2 hours after school and giving them a snack .

Location:

We are in Arlington very close to bus lines and with a lot of free and easy parking. 

Schedule:

We can guarantee 8 to 24 hours a week depending on the nanny’s school schedule as long as the day(s) of the week is consistent for each semester. 

Requirements:

This position requires a payroll service and a W2 will be provided.

Saturday Afternoon Life Skills Companion Needed For Young Woman With Autism

Experienced and creative life skills companion needed (twice monthly) for our young adult daughter who lives independently in Back Bay. Responsibilities include afternoon adventures, dinners and spending the evenings while supporting life skills through neurotypical activities such as watching movies, going out to dinner, and socializing. Babysitting needed (Winchester)

Looking for a friendly, trustworthy, fun babysitter for our 3 kids (ages 2, 5, and 7) in Winchester for one day/week and occasional date nights starting asap. Our children love pretend play, crafts, and outdoor play. We also have a 25lb terrier mix so please be comfortable around dogs (though he’s 14 and spends most of his time napping). 

Our ideal babysitter would:

* be fun to play with, and someone who wants to get involved in playing vs. sitting and watching

* prepare light snacks/meals for the kids, as well as clean up afterwards

* not mind handling diaper changes for our youngest

* take care of light household tasks (tidy up the toys after playing- involving the kids too as appropriate)

* have reliable transportation, be CPR/First Aid aware (if not certified)

* be available for 3-4 hours one day a week as well as occasional evenings

* be comfortable doing bedtime routine with the kids on occasional evenings

* be a positive, caring role model

Per diem or part-time PCA / caregiver Somerville, MA

Looking to hire someone for per diem and/or part time relief care for a disabled adult with chronic illness. Help would include meal prep (lunch and dinner), kitchen clean up, and possibly some light housework.  Hours are flexible as we are looking to give my partner a break from caretaking – likely 1-2 afternoons or evenings per week if PT. Per diem schedule would be random weekends (full days) but infrequent (every few months).

I’m mid 30s living in Somerville MA between Davis Square and Porter Square.  Kind, understanding, and a queer friendly person. We have a 1 year old dog who is social and sweet.  I’m a non smoker but don’t care if you are.  I am fully vaccinated and request you are too as I am immunocompromised.

This would be a good opportunity for a pre-med/nursing student to get some patient care hours.  I am a trained medical provider myself and happy to chat about the profession!

Part-time Nanny Position – Warm & Energetic Family in Winchester

Are you a caring, experienced nanny who loves working with children and thrives in a lively household? A vibrant young family in Winchester is looking for a warm, energetic, and dependable nanny to help care for their three wonderful children – ages 7, 5, and nearly 2 – from mid-August through November (or possibly December).

Schedule:

Weekdays:

  • Morning Support: 7:00 AM – 9:30 AM
  • Afternoon/Evening Support: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Responsibilities Include:

  • Getting kids ready for the day (breakfast, getting dressed, etc.)
  • School and camp drop-offs and pick-ups (family car provided)
  • Preparing school lunches and snacks
  • Assisting with children’s laundry and light tidying related to the kids
  • Engage in kindergarten level learning activities and exercises, book reading, and art projects etc.
  • Supervise general play in dedicated playroom
  • Occasional help with dinner prep and bedtime routines (as agreed)

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience caring for multiple children and thrives in a busy family setting
  • Brings energy, warmth, and patience to their work
  • Is organized and reliable, with excellent communication skills
  • Holds a valid driver’s license (car provided for driving the children)
  • Is confident managing school and camp transitions and staying on top of the daily flow

Additional Details:

  • This is currently a short-term position while the family awaits the arrival of a full-time au pair. However, they are open to the possibility of extending the role — and may consider a live-in arrangement for the right person. If you’re interested in a live-in setup, housing and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.

Start Date: Mid-August
End Date: November (possibly extending into December)

Compensation: $30-$40/hour based on experience
